Renewable Energy
Any type of energy produced from sources such as wind, solar, geothermal process and hydro projects is considered to be green energy. It is called green energy because it is produced from renewable sources and results in a much smaller impact on our environment. To protect the earth and its inhabitants from pollution and to ensure the supply of continuous energy, we should use green energy for industrial as well as domestic purposes.
Our traditional energy sources are mainly non-renewable resources like coal and oil. The burning of these fuels negatively impacts our environment as they release greenhouse gases that affect the climate of the earth. Moreover, traditional energy sources are fast depleting and are not renewable.  Because the world is facing an energy crisis, there is an urgent need for other sources of energy that are easily available and do not harm our environment.

Trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. During the process of photosynthesis, trees take in carbon dioxide and produce the oxygen we breathe. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, "One acre of forest absorbs six tons of carbon dioxide and puts out four tons of oxygen. This is enough to meet the annual needs of 18 people." Trees, shrubs and turf also filter air by removing dust and absorbing other pollutants like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. After trees intercept unhealthy particles, rain washes them to the ground. 

Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests in order to make the land available for other uses. An estimated 18 million acres (7.3 million hectares) of forest, which is roughly the size of the country of Panama, are lost each year, according to the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization
Sustainable Agriculture
Sustainable farms do not rely on toxic chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified seeds or practices that degrade soil, water, or other natural resources. By growing a variety of plants and using techniques such as crop rotation and conservation tillage, sustainable farms protect biodiversity and foster the development and maintenance of healthy ecosystems.

Food production should never come at the expense of the health of humans, animals or the environment. Since sustainable crop farms avoid hazardous pesticides, they're able to grow fruits and vegetables that are safer for consumers, workers, and surrounding communities.
